Darren Harper

Darren Harper

Darren is a Band Member from Red Sucker Lake First Nation in Manitoba, he currently resides in Kenora Ontario with his wife and 2 young sons. He is a co-owner of Indigenous and Community Engagement (ICE) which specializes in community and resource development, strategy and partnership initiatives, change management solutions and professional and advisory services.

Darren has over 10 years of experience working with First Nation communities, Treaty organizations and industry related companies on various issues related to development of oil and gas transportation, along with energy and mining solutions.

Darren has also provided services as a senior level manager to an Ontario Tribal Council that represented a number of First Nations in Northwestern Ontario. The restructuring of the organization and successfully establishing financial sustainability for its programs areas.

Darren has been actively working with First Nations in engagement and stakeholder relations; the strategic development of sound governance initiatives and models for creating self-sustaining communities; and providing change management solutions towards economic development initiatives. This includes the policies and procedures of the community along with the codes that govern the leadership and administration of the First Nation and assisting communities and organizations adapt to accelerated change caused by major resource development projects.
